Generous Brits give billions to charity

By on August 21, 2013

In 2012, £9.3 billion was donated to a variety of charitable causes by kindhearted Britons. Those who were helped most were in the medical fields, with research and hospitals coming out on top as the biggest beneficiaries. Statistics show that donors gave an average of £10 to charity, with females typically more generous than men – but those in the 16-24 age brackets are least likely to donate.

Those who contributed to charitable causes did so through numerous methods with cash, direct debit and Action Now among the most popular. To illustrate, please read, like and share this infographic (below) that TNT Post, the UK’s second largest postal provider, have created to show the figures behind the billions given to charity each year.
